The day after Christmas has been one of those days as a child I never wanted to end, because this was the day that all we had to do was enjoy all the toys we received on Christmas Day. Also, the day after Christmas is one the biggest shopping/return days of the year in my estimation.
I was pondering on this whole idea of giving gifts to those you love and not to mention the love that is involved in giving them, only to have them returned to the stores from which they came and exchange them for something they wanted more than what you gave to them.
When the gift that is given is not received in the spirit, in which it is given, then it becomes a natural thing to get rid of it by placing it in the closet, attic or garage never to be seen again.
Unfortunately, this is the same mentality that is taken by most people today when it comes to the gift of life that was given them by God Himself,
Jhn 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
When we understand the importance of this gift and the love in which it was given, it is then and only then will we instead of looking to return it we instead will look to His Return.

I.H.S. - thanks for coming by my blog and commenting! Hope to see you back. I enjoyed your post here - I went out yesterday, apparently forgetting about all of the post-Christmas sales. What a mistake! There were certainly a lot of people either not recieving their gifts in the spirit of the givers, or attempting to recieve more gifts that they didn't get. Anyway, I'll be coming back your way soon. Happy blogging!
Well, I have to admit I returned two gifts today..very odd for me.
I promise I WILL NEVER RETURN GOD'S PRECIOUS GIFT though!!!! AND I will always hang onto the receipt, just in case!!
