The Start of Something New...

It's a great day and a great time to start something new... I've always wondered though about some people, because I refuse generalize, have such a tumultuous time with the idea of starting something new. I wonder is it fear of the unknown and what this newness could bring, is it because of the complacency that has crept in over time due to lack of engaging in anything outside the normal? Would there be records to keep if there was no new? Would there be a finish?
